WV Tea Party leader research on Upper Big Branch Mine Disaster

I love to do research, especially when someone is picked to do an "independent" investigation, like the one regarding the Upper Big Branch mine disaster. 
 
Joe Manchin handpicked Davitt McAteer to do an "independent" investigation on the Upper Big Branch mine disaster.  Does Davitt McAteer have a bias or agenda of any kind?  Well . . .

He is a liberal who donates only to liberal Democrats, including Barack "Hates Coal" Obama and Al "Global Warming" Gore, politicians who are not a friend of coal.  http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail.php?st=WV&last=mcateer
 
He also depends on earmarks from the federal government for his programs at Wheeling Jesuit.  Here is a quote from him.  "Our notion is that earmarks are like start-up money," says J. Now, someone who was picked to be on Obama's transition team, who donates only to liberal Democrats, who depends on earmarks for his programs at Wheeling Jesuit, and who is President of a non-profit that is supporting the Rio Earth Summit, to me, has an agenda that is not friendly to coal, and is incapable of performing an unbiased report on the Upper Big Branch Disaster.  His "independent" report made Massey Energy look very bad.  Below is an interview he did about it.
