Event Description

Parkersburg Tea Party believes that when you go to the polls in May you should know the people you cast your vote for. This is YOUR CHANCE to meet these people. This event will include candidates from all political parties who seek office for City Council and Mayor of Parkersburg.

This will be a very casual event, with each candidate given a short introduction and then we will mingle. You may meet these candidates, ask then questions, shake their hands and look them in the eye!

They need our support as much as we need theirs. Soon, TEN of them will be working for us. We will be paying their salaries!

Please take advantage of this chance to be a part of running our city!

Candidates will be receiving invitations next week. We hope to be able to meet them all!

Respect is a requirement, even if you are dead set against a certain candidate. PLEASE Use this time to find their replacement.

Any person who disrespects a candidate will immediately be asked to leave.

WE WILL ALSO BE HOLDING A SIMILAR EVENT FOR COUNTY OFFICES...TBA soon...(work in progress - we have a lot of candidates this year)

Comment by Parkersburg Tea Party on February 10, 2012 at 4:39pm: Besides, this is only the primaries. Election information may be handed out by all candidates, and the introductions will be filmed and available on this site. I really want this to be fair to all concerned.

Comment by Parkersburg Tea Party on February 10, 2012 at 4:36pm: Sometimes, I could kick myself! I have inadvertently scheduled this meeting on city council meeting night. Invitations have been sent and RSVP's have began to come in. So, since our plans are to have a short introduction, then mingle time, All incumbents will be placed first on the roster to speak, so that they can be at the council meeting by 7:30PM. Then new candidates will be given the same allotted time to speak. After the council meeting, incumbents may return to mingle and have refreshments. This will give voters time to get to know the new candidates, plus when we do our Sheriff Forum and our other county offices forum, incumbents are always welcome to attend and mingle there also. I am very sorry for my oversight on this, but I think it will work out fine.
